Please join the Virginia Indian tribal leaders, members of
the Virginia General Assembly, and friends at an opening reception for the
“Beyond Jamestown” and “Family Portraits” exhibits, appearing at the at the State Capitol from January to December
2009.*
The Virginia Indian Heritage Program is honored to present
these ground-breaking exhibits from a Native perspective, curated by Karenne
Wood (Monacan), Director, in consultation with the Virginia Indian tribes, and
developed by the Virginia Museum of Natural History.
*A partnership between the
Virginia Indian Heritage Program, the Clerks Offices of the Virginia House and
Senate, and the Capitol Square Preservation Council, with assistance from the
Virginia Department of Historic Resources.
